Настоящая информационная брошюра посвящена Рамочной конвенции по защите
морской среды Каспийского моря (Тегеранской конвенции), подписанной в 2003 году и вступившей в силу в 2006 году, и пути, которой она прошла от истоков формирования до ее становления и развития, и представляет в кратком систематизированном виде хронологию событий и деятельности в рамках Тегеранской конвенции.
Брошюра подготовлена временным Секретариатом Тегеранской конвенции с участием Сторон Конвенции. В брошюру включена авторская информация участников разработки и реализации Тегеранской конвенции на разных этапах ее становления и развития. Материалы информационной брошюры призваны способствовать пониманию общественностью и другими заинтересованными в реализации Конвенции Сторонами роли Тегеранской конвенции в сохранении морской и прибрежной среды и достижении целей устойчивого развития в регионе Каспийского моря.
Изложение материалов в хронологическом порядке показывает широкий спектр и объём тематических направлений деятельности Конвенции и подчеркивает ее значимость для решения природоохранных проблем региона Каспийского моря.
Материалы информационной брошюры могут быть использованы органами власти, общественностью, другими заинтересованными сторонами прикаспийских государств как информационно-справочный материал для более широкого ознакомления с Тегеранской конвенцией и ее мероприятиями в области охраны морской и прибрежной среды в регионе Каспийского моря.

This informational brochure is dedicated to the Framework Convention for the Protection of the Marine Environment of the Caspian Sea (Tehran Convention), signed in 2003 and entered into force in 2006, and the path it took from its origins to its formation and development, and presents in a short and systematic way a chronology of events and activities under the Tehran Convention.
Prepared by the interim Secretariat of the Tehran Convention with the collaboration of the Convention’s Parties, this brochure includes contributions from individuals involved in the development and implementation of the Tehran Convention at various stages of its establishment and advancement.
The materials in this brochure are intended to foster understanding among the public and other stakeholders regarding the role of the Tehran Convention in preserving the marine and coastal environment and achieving sustainable development goals in the Caspian Sea region.
The presentation of the materials in chronological order shows the wide range and scope of the Convention’s thematic areas of activity and highlights its importance for solving environmental problems in the Caspian Sea region.

The materials of the information brochure can be used by the authorities, the public, and other interested parties of the Caspian littoral states as information and reference material for wider familiarization with the Tehran Convention and its activities in the field of marine and coastal environment protection in the Caspian Sea region.

In 2022, there took place environmental campaigns and subbotniks (volunteer weekend work). This on the Volga River banks in the Limansky district an eco-subbotnik was organized with the participation of schoolchildren, and it was aimed at cleaning up the coastal area of ​​the river from rubbish.

The natural potential of the unique Volga Delta area is effectively and carefully used in the excursion and tourist activity of the Astrakhan Reserve. 

В 2022 году  были организованы экологические акции и субботники, посвященные «Дню Каспийского моря».

Так экологический субботник на Волге в Лиманском районе. Был организован совместно со школьниками и направлен на очистку от мусора прибрежной территории реки. Природный потенциал уникальной дельты Волги эффективно и бережно используется в экскурсионно-туристской работе Астраханского заповедника.

В Астраханском заповеднике проводились экологические полевые экспедицией для школьников «Изучаем дельту», для учащихся школ Астраханской области, активно принимавших участие в эколого-просветительских мероприятиях Астраханского заповедника в учебном году. В рамках программы сотрудники заповедника проводили лекции, тренинги и практические занятия. Организовывались выезды на лодках и пешие экскурсии с целью изучения биологии животных и растений в их естественной среде обитания, знакомство с работой заповедника. Общее число участников экспедиций – 50 чел. В рамках сотрудничества с учреждениями культуры и ознакомления жителей и гостей города с природой и деятельностью Астраханского заповедника была организована выставка «Астраханский биосферный заповедник» в экспозиции «Природа Астраханского края».

The Persian leopard Panthera pardus tulliana is an endangered large felid living in mountainous landscapes of the Caucasus, Southwest Asia and parts of Central Asia. In this paper, we review available literature to update our information on the status, population, ecology, threats, and management recommendations in regard to this big cat in the region. Most of the Alborz and Kopetdag Ecoregions harbour the largest population of Persian leopard with some protected areas having the highest densities of these carnivores. A total of 348 to 440 leopards are guessed to exist in the region, making it one of the largest continuous leopard hotspots across Asia. Almost 80% of the population exists in Iran, followed by Turkmenistan which holds the second largest Persian leopard population, while the leopard population in Kazakhstan mainly depends on transboundary transient individuals from Turkmenistan.

Доклад подготовлен с целью обзора деятельности Казахстана по выполнению Тегеранской конвенции за период с 2019 по 2020 годы. Работа содержит анализ решений, принятых Конференцией Сторон Конвенции, и экологического законодательства, а также обзор программных документов Казахстана, направленных на защиту окружающей среды Каспийского моря.

The purpose of the Report is to review the activities of Kazakhstan related to implementation of obligations under the Tehran Convention in the period from 2019 to 2020. It includes an analysis of the decisions adopted by the Conference of the Parties to the Convention and the national environmental legislation, as well as an overview of programme documents of Kazakhstan aimed at protecting the Caspian Sea environment.
