In 2022, there took place environmental campaigns and subbotniks (volunteer weekend work). This on the Volga River banks in the Limansky district an eco-subbotnik was organized with the participation of schoolchildren, and it was aimed at cleaning up the coastal area of ​​the river from rubbish.

The natural potential of the unique Volga Delta area is effectively and carefully used in the excursion and tourist activity of the Astrakhan Reserve. 

В 2022 году  были организованы экологические акции и субботники, посвященные «Дню Каспийского моря».

Так экологический субботник на Волге в Лиманском районе. Был организован совместно со школьниками и направлен на очистку от мусора прибрежной территории реки. Природный потенциал уникальной дельты Волги эффективно и бережно используется в экскурсионно-туристской работе Астраханского заповедника.

В Астраханском заповеднике проводились экологические полевые экспедицией для школьников «Изучаем дельту», для учащихся школ Астраханской области, активно принимавших участие в эколого-просветительских мероприятиях Астраханского заповедника в учебном году. В рамках программы сотрудники заповедника проводили лекции, тренинги и практические занятия. Организовывались выезды на лодках и пешие экскурсии с целью изучения биологии животных и растений в их естественной среде обитания, знакомство с работой заповедника. Общее число участников экспедиций – 50 чел. В рамках сотрудничества с учреждениями культуры и ознакомления жителей и гостей города с природой и деятельностью Астраханского заповедника была организована выставка «Астраханский биосферный заповедник» в экспозиции «Природа Астраханского края».

Year 2013 was declared by the Edict of the President of the Russian Federation as the Year of the Environment aimed at the implementation of one of the principle rights provided by the Constitution of the Russian Federation – “ensuring the right of every person for favourable environment”.  The executive authorities of the subjects of the Russian Federation have been carrying out the relevant activities and events all the year round, which were planned in the frameworks of the Year of the Environment in Russia.

It is especially important that such a decision has been made at the background of the similar declaring of 2013 as the Year of Environmental Culture and Protection within the Commonwealth of Independent States.

В информационных материалах – «День Каспийского моря» – 2013 дан обзор природоохранных мероприятий на русском и английском языках «Дня Каспийского моря» в прикаспийских субъектах России.

2013 год Указом Президента Российской Федерации был объявлен Годом окружающей среды Исполнительной властью субъектов Российской Федерации в течение года проводились соответствующие мероприятия, запланированные в рамках проведения Года охраны окружающей среды в России.

12 августа на базе Астраханского регионального отделения Общероссийской общественной организации «Всероссийское общество охраны природы» при поддержке Центра международных проектов был организован специализированный «круглый стол», посвящённый «Дню Каспия», в ходе которого был затронут ряд вопросов, имеющих отношение к тематикам, предусмотренным Тегеранской конвенцией.

Отмечая растущую насущность экологических проблем на Каспии, участники обсудили возможные пути практического решения поднятых проблем, а также возможные направления сотрудничества органов власти, предприятий бизнес-сектора, общественности и научных кругов.

Также во всех прикаспийских субъектах были проведены мероприятия по очисткепобережья Волги от мусора.

Материалы подготовлены экспертами ЦМП (Т. П. Бутылиной, Ж.Новоселовой) на основе материалов экспертов прикаспийских стран.

The Persian leopard Panthera pardus tulliana is an endangered large felid living in mountainous landscapes of the Caucasus, Southwest Asia and parts of Central Asia. In this paper, we review available literature to update our information on the status, population, ecology, threats, and management recommendations in regard to this big cat in the region. Most of the Alborz and Kopetdag Ecoregions harbour the largest population of Persian leopard with some protected areas having the highest densities of these carnivores. A total of 348 to 440 leopards are guessed to exist in the region, making it one of the largest continuous leopard hotspots across Asia. Almost 80% of the population exists in Iran, followed by Turkmenistan which holds the second largest Persian leopard population, while the leopard population in Kazakhstan mainly depends on transboundary transient individuals from Turkmenistan.

Работа содержит анализ решений, принятых Конференцией Сторон Конвенции, и экологического законодательства, а также обзор программных документов Казахстана, направленных на защиту окружающей среды Каспийского моря.

The purpose of the Report is to review the activities of Kazakhstan related to implementation of obligations under the Tehran Convention in the period from 2019 to 2020. It includes an analysis of the decisions adopted by the Conference of the Parties to the Convention and the national environmental legislation, as well as an overview of programme documents of Kazakhstan aimed at protecting the Caspian Sea environment.

Review of Kazakhstan's activities in fulfillment of obligations under the Tehran Convention

Toxicity tests are commonly used as a tool to determine the standards of water quality for chemicals and to discover appropriate organisms as bioindicators in toxicological studies, and also could be used as an essential tool for evaluation of the pollutant effects in aquatic ecosystems. The aim of the present study was to evaluate the sensitivity of two Caspian fish species, Caspian trout as an endangered species and Caspian Kutum using the static acute toxicity in response to nonylphenol, which is widely discharged into the Caspian Sea environment.

In addition, Caspian trout was approximately 6 times more sensitive than Caspian Kutum. Nonylphenol was reflected to be "highly toxic" to Caspian trout and "moderately toxic" to Caspian Kutum. The results could be considered in preparing plans for conservation and restocking management of Caspian Kutum and the endangered Caspian trout. 

This report analyzes oil and natural gas in the Caspian region, focusing primarily on the littoral (coastal) countries of the Caspian Sea (Russia, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan and Iran). A discussion of Uzbekistan is also included. While not a Caspian coastal state, a considerable amount of Uzbekistan's territory, along with its energy resources, lies in the geological Caspian basins.

The combination of foreign investment and rising energy prices allowed the coastal countries to shift from diverting oil extraction for local use to supplying both regional and world oil markets. The ability of countries to export greater volumes of Caspian crude oil and natural gas will depend on how quickly domestic energy demand rises in those countries, how quickly they can build additional export infrastructure to global markets, and whether expensive projects to develop Caspian resources can attract sufficient investment.

The consequences of possible industrial accident capable of impacting the territories of neighboring countries", said Bapy.

According to his words, for monitoring of oil fields in thenorth-eastern part of the sea, there was established the North Caspian ecological base for oil spill response. "Ak Beren" blowout response group specialists are annually trained in the UK.
